Sung Communion
A Church of England Holy Communion Service in contemporary language with a mix of traditional and modern hymns and sung sections of the service and sermon.
Holy Communion is celebrated in response to Jesus’ command to his disciples at the Last Supper when he broke bread and shared wine with them to symbolise what was going to happen to him on the cross.
It is an important part of Christian worship and all those who normally receive Holy Communion in their own churches of any denomination or who are confirmed are welcome to join in the bread and wine with us.
Anyone who is not sure about receiving the bread and wine is invited to come forward for a blessing.
On the second Sunday each month we use a nave communion table and liturgies from other communities such as the Iona Community and a shorter section of teaching appropriate for all ages.
After the Sunday morning service we meet after the service in the church hall for refreshments.
